A Friday with Foreigner

Ahhh Nothing like spending a day reliving your youth. That is what Friday felt like! I was lucky enough to spend the entire day on a shoot with one of my favorite bands, Foreigner. Yes, I realize there is only 1 original member left - the Rock & Roll icon, Mick Jones - but it did not matter...They sounded great and I felt like I was getting a private concert. The day was spent taping a music session and interview for A&E's Private Session. The guys in the band were great, they were funny and each member had great stories from previous bands they were a part of. Jeff, the guy with the long hair, was actually a member of the Hair/Metal band Dokken... I remembered him from his music videos and traditional "hair flip"! Ahhh those were the days! HAHA
O cant forget to mention the late great Zep drummer, John Bonham's son Jason Bonham was on drums....
AMAZING!

Rick Springfield's Biggest Fan

In an all out effort to give her heartthrob a "Rock and Roll" look, celebrity hairdresser ( and dear friend) Linda Francipiani focuses her hard rock energy into the locks of her beloved Rick Springfield. Rick went on to the performance of his life ( of course with the help of my rocker makeup) at the CBS Early Show on July 31, 2008.
Shout out to AudioDavid for sending the pic!!

Paws for Style and Doggie Drama Event!

Anyone who knows me knows - I LOVE ANIMALS! So when I was asked to do makeup and set up a team for the celebrities at the Red Carpet event "Paws for Style" - I was all over it! Well, what a fun and crazy event it turned out to be! Dressed up doggies and celebs everywhere....Then the event got really heated when premiere guest Lauren Conrad stormed out of the forum before she did her cat/dogwalk. She was wearing a cute red dress from her new (and heard struggling) clothes line. My wonderful crew (Lisa Corvelli, Steven Rice, Jules Waldkoetter and Aly K.) actually watched her backstage, sitting alone with a long face.... THEN we actually witnessed her slip out the back entrance with her posse!! Reality "stars" - what else would you expect! Besides all the drama - the event was AMAZING. Wendy Diamond (judge on "Greatest American Dog" and founder of Animal Fare magazine)put together an exciting event to benefit the Humane Society rescue and adoption efforts. Again, I want to thank my crew, Lisa, Steve, Jules and Aly for being so wonderfully supportive, giving and talented!! I will keep you updated with pics , media coverage, and upcoming events.

Destination Weddings
My latest obsession- Destination Weddings.
Having had the honor and pleasure of attending my dear friends Dina & Ray's wedding in Cabo, Mexico- I will now try to get myself invited to every destination wedding I find. Plus, it also gives me the perfect excuse to take some time off!! (Although I know I will be asked to do makeup!)
Once I took part in this small elegant event, I thought, 'Why would anyone want to get married any other way?'
Most traditional weddings last a day- a destination wedding can last 3, 5 or even 7 days!! The wedding tends to be smaller but at least you know those who attend REALLY want to be there! Costs probably run about the same but in the end the memories last longer for the bride, groom and ALL THE GUESTS! After years of being involved with MANY weddings and brides, I would definitely encourage looking into the options of a destination wedding...
If you have been to one, please tell us about your experience....
